This class project was to develop a new symbol for a common sound used in English to make it easier to understand, faster to read and write, more efficient to produce. The symbol I invented was the Quilk. It’s purpose is to take the place of qu in a word. The design mirrors that of the type specimen poster.

This class project was to create a travel poster based on an experience of a specific place and inspired by posters of the 1920s and 1930s. My reference was a poster for Yugoslavia. I took reference from the use of color to add depth to the poster by using warm colors and cool colors.

“The more things change, the more they stay the same.” This cover depicts a gamer with a futuristic gaming device while playing one of the first home console games ever. It suggests people will always return to old familiar games despite advancements.

This class project was to create covers for The New Yorker based on a certain phrase, “The more things change, the more they stay the same.” This cover depicts people sitting on a bench with one side in black and white and one in color. Both sides are detached from their environment by information and media relevant to their time period.

This class project was to redesign the logo for C.R.O.W. The acronym for the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife, and organization dedicated to the care of sick or injured wild animals indigenous to Florida. The main figure in the logo is a double-crested cormorant. The figure that is made in the negative space is a human head and body with a hand under the bird’s wing.

This project for the New York State Department of Health was a brochure to inform people about the dangers of electric cigarettes. The brochure is bright and colorful on the outside showing a bottle and different types and names of e-cigs on the back with some facts. The inside is dark and dull, showing the harmful ingredients in e-cig’s liquid and vapor.
